Furry friends

As much as they drive me nutty, raiding the trash, barking at naptime, hiding under the couch chewing on toys, licking my damp legs after I climb out of the shower, I wouldn't trade my furballs for the world. They are always ecstatic to see me, and display amusing antics second only to my kids. They are the best nap buddies, keep me company during long walks and runs, and provide a watchful, reassuring set of eyes and ears while my kids are asleep. Meet the motley crew...

Bo, our boxer mix, who is about to turn 1, is the first face I see upon waking every morning, ha!

Next we have Lilly, best friend to my kids, victim of countless hours of "dress up", mama to all other dogs in the house, and resident princess...

And lastly, Black Dog, a sweet, playful, and spunky little stray we took in (see blog below for her story)...

An adorable little Goodwill find I bought in honor of my pooches... isn't he cute?!

  1. "the dead cockroach" - what a great nickname for the napping position, hilarious!

thanks for stopping by, hope you find a cute doll pattern for your daughter! :)

  2. So THIS is what our little puppy will grow up to look like! I was wondering if her ears would stay up as an adult. Can Bo hold his up at will? I love your writing, AND your pics.

  3. Oh, your pups are so sweet! We had the best dog named Amber, who looked much like your own "dead cockroach"! She would jump up and scale the ridge line of the roof from our second story deck! She was so good with the kids, but alas, we had a mean neighbor, and I will leave it at that! Thank goodness for Nitro, and now living next to better neighbors!

  4. Missy, no, for the most part he does not have control of his ears, but they do randomly pop up when he's really excited. We think he's some sort of a boxer/pitbull/shepherd mix. He's a great guy!

Nitro, that's such a sad story, but your current guy is a doll.
