Our first site upon waking and leaving our tent each morning...

Nothing is quite as perfect as opening your eyes, smelling the salty air, and walking into the ocean in your pj's...

The kids were in agreement...

Free for the taking!

I'm not sure who was more excited to be gathering seashells... myself or the kids!

They dug through the seaweed to find tiny little mussels...

Frolicking in the jammies...

Vacation is where gull feathers are bookmarks, and seashells are paperweights...

And shoes are meant to be left in a heap...

I like to call this photo, "The United Colors of Johnson"

Tiny feet feet pattering across the sand...

Vacation is also a great time to give your unsuspecting little brother bunny ears...

Or to explore the ocean with your big brother...

Or to take cheesy self-portraits!

But most importantly, vacation is the perfect time to watch the sunsets...
Nice Amy! Looks like you guys had a great time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family! And a beautiful vacation spot. I saw your mention of your husband's pending deployment...I would recommend that as important as it is for your kids to hear his voice, make sure your dogs hear him too! Sounds stupid, but it does work. They need to know that he loves them too...
ReplyDeleteI love: the photography, especially the first and eighth picture, The United Colors of Johnson, "Vacation is where gull feathers are bookmarks, and seashells are paperweights...", your boys hair, and those darling faces.
ReplyDeleteWhat camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteI lost all of my equipment in a house fire last year, so I just got a new camera this past spring. I am a Canon shooter, and they have so many great new cameras, so I sprang for the Rebel T2i. It's 18.1mp, can do HD video, and is very user friendly. It also takes SD cards, versus Compact Flash Memory cards, so the memory is much more cost effective.
ReplyDeleteAnd to reply to your first post, thank you so much! I thought it was so perfect when my son Javen placed a feather in his book as a bookmark. :) It visually summed up the feeling of our vacation.
ReplyDeleteAlex, great advice! I never would have thought of that, but it makes perfect sense!
Kathy, yes, it was beautiful!
